No Crap in My EyeShadow Please!

“The eyes are the most valuable feature of your face.”
So watch out what you put on them!

For the most part, we can all agree that there is nothing more captivating than beautiful, tantalizing eyes. But does that mean that we should sacrifice our eyes optimal health by using eyeshadow that can have damaging ingredients inside?

Many of us girls do not question or give a second thought to what we are applying to our skin. All we know is that it’s makeup, and it looks pretty. But there is much more to that, and there is knowledge that every woman should know before applying certain products, eye shadow especially.

Regulations Don’t Matter!
Regulations related to cosmetics actually give NO LIMIT for toxic elements (such as metals/arsenic) occurring as “impurities” in your cosmetic products. What crap!

Metals allowed in your make-up:
* Lead
* Cobalt
* Nickel
* Chromium

and who knows what else.

According to a recent study, metals and arsenic are found in eye-shadows of 25 different brand names, 49 overall products and in 88 colors, if not more!

“Skin Deep” is an investigative report by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), an advocacy organization.The EWG examined 711 lipstick products and found that 28% contained ingredients associated with cancer risk from chemicals like butylated hydroxytoluene, Nylon 6, ferric oxide, polyethylene, and titanium dioxide.

On the other hand, the FDA permits the use of mercury compounds in eye makeup at concentrations up to 65 parts per million. The preservative thimerosol (and vaccines), found in some mascaras, is a mercury-containing product.

Health Hazards: Mercury is associated with a host of health concerns including allergic reactions, skin irritation, toxicity, neurological damage, bioacculumation, and environmental damage. Mercury readily passes into the body through the skin, so normal use of the product results in exposure.

Remember, Mercury Does NOT Have To Be Listed in the Ingredients!
I think that’s some bull.
